Flacodesign
Sculptural lamps hand-built from Danish ash veneer by their designer, in a one-man workshop-shop on Jægersborggade.
Flacodesign is Casper Madsen's lighting workshop and shop on Jægersborggade, trading under his own name since 2012. Every lamp is made by hand from locally sourced Danish ash veneer, bent and layered into twisted, shell-like forms that read as sculpture when unlit and throw warm, patterned light when they are switched on.
The shapes take their cues from nature, mathematics and organic structure — small repeated elements accumulating into something that looks grown rather than assembled. Sculptures sit alongside the lighting.
It is a genuinely small operation: one maker, one bench, and opening hours that reflect the fact that he is usually at it.
