Stilleben was started in 2002 by Ditte Reckweg and Jelena Schou Nordentoft, both product designers trained in glass and ceramics at the Danish School of Design. Two decades on, the premise has not moved: new aesthetic expressions and meaningful objects for everyday life.

The shop carries their own designs — tableware, glassware, home textiles — alongside a selection the two of them pick themselves: handmade ceramics, one-off pieces, textiles and furniture by makers whose work belongs next to their own. It is a designer's shop rather than a buyer's shop, and the edit shows it.

The flagship on Christian IX's Gade is where the full collection and the curated selection sit side by side.
